Comments Policy

WARNING: this page’s content may sound rather harsh. It’s intentional. After several years browsing the Internet, I’ve seen enough of bad practices. I won’t allow such things to take place at Abaminds Entrepreneurs. Besides, this is mainly addressed at the harsh types out there, and those don’t understand friendly language. So there you go.

Your comments are welcome—under certain conditions. If you aren’t willing to respect my Comments Policy, please refrain from commenting.

I will NOT tolerate certain things here. You can spend the rest of your life whining about “lack of freedom of speech.” I don’t care. I love freedom of speech but I will NOT let you use it as an excuse to disturb this blog’s environment.

Here’s what I expect from all commenters:

  • Politeness
  • Friendliness
  • Respect
  • An open mind

Here’s a list of no-nos for commenters:

  • Don’t try to dominate the comments section to have the final word on a issue. You are entitled to express your views, as long as you stick to the good practices list above. However, you are not entitled to retort each and every commenter who disagrees with you. You can’t always win. Learn to live with that.
  • Don’t post discriminatory comments. No hate, no religious fanaticism, no anti-religious remarks, no sexism, no insults to Indians, Pakistani, Brazilians or any other people, no anti-gay statements, no [insert-other-discrimination-targets-here].
  • No profanity, no vulgarity, no obscene words. Please keep your comments family-safe.
  • No rudeness, no hostility, no personal attacks.
  • Do not try to diminish the value of other people’s work. For instance: if you insinuate that a writer’s work isn’t important, your comment will most likely be rejected. This blog is brought to you by a writer. If you think my work isn’t important, what are you doing here in the first place? Another example: if you bash foreigner workers, implying they are incompetent whereas your compatriots are wonderful, your comment will never surpass my moderation queue. Don’t you understand why? Please reread the item on discrimination.
  • Comments that promote or otherwise support violence, weapons, drugs and/or hacking will be rejected.
  • This blog is not the place to discuss politics, unless a post’s topic is strictly related to the subject.
  • This should go without saying, but just in case: no spam here.

What about display names, URLs and signatures?

  • You’re allowed to use a keyword or your company’s name if you wish. However, I strongly recommend that you at least mention your first name as well. For instance: “Mara from Best Montana Realtor” instead of “Best Montana Realtor.”
  • You can fill the URL field with a link to any work-safe, non-discriminatory, legal and non-objectionable page. Deep links are allowed as well.
  • You’re free to add a signature to your comments. However, your signature cannot contain more than 2 links. This means that you can use your comments to promote up to 3 sites at once.

What else?

  • Please, don’t underestimate my judgement. Don’t think that you’ll be safe if your comments are “subtile” and you try to disguise your insults and attacks by using supposedly mild words. This won’t work.
  • I reserve the right to edit or delete any comments or trackbacks which infringe my policies. My decision is final and isn’t up for discussion.
  • It’s useless to tell me that my rules are “too tough” and that I’d better close the comment forms altogether. This type of statement is usually made by those who look for opportunities to disrespect others and hate it when someone stops them. Why would I listen to such people?
